Cats and Dogs part II

Eat me, oh go on then if you insist.

Did you think your make up bag was big?  Think again.  These girls know their stuff.

Are you loving the floral hair comb?  Those orchids  almost match the leopard print.

The trike, it’s a Pashley. Aspirational huh?  Who know’s one day I may own one, until then one can dream.  And a freezer full of ice cream. What better way to work it off.

Topped with a little bit of sparkle to complete  the shoot.

So what’s your favourite?  Are you a fudgy bird? Or going all out on the slap?  Do you prefer a cone from a camper van? Or do you just want too float in a gown?

And one day soon the real photographers will reveal their work and put my snaps to shame.

Cats and dogs

best laid plans…

and then it rains cats and dogs… and swans. Break a man’s arm you know.

Succulents, the main attraction.  My new best friends.  And letterpress lady, also my new best friend. Associating myself with all things fabulous.

So, it was a sunny outdoor photo shoot. Next to the lake with a stunning bride in a floaty white number. And an ice cream trike and a million other things (next blog).

Garlands swinging (what do you mean they’re supposed to simply adorn?) in the gale force winds and hydrangea rolling towards the lake. There was even birds in cages – a novel concept I appreciate. They fell over too, in the wind. Unharmed, but probably shivering.  A perfect day to be wearing a 1950s style frock, no?

Met some lovely gals and guys and well we’re nothing if not versatile. We went in the barn, in the warmth and ate pastries.

Abracadabra

personally thought it was a magical incantation. How wrong. Apparently it’s a tattoo parlour in Caerphilly.

Illusion rose.  My new best friend.  It will be the new ‘vintage’ rose. Lots will be written about it’s country style, old fashioned beauty blah blah. Just appreciate it for what it is.  Simply beautiful.  And thought it would look pretty darn sexy with the Coffee Break and ranunculus.  Yes, they are out of focus. Yes I am having problems with my fave camera lens. But you get the idea.  Squint it looks better.

Curly Sue

It’s the dark one with a little ruffle.  Or this. Depends where you’re coming from.

And today it just had to be tulips for one lovely bride.  It was an interesting consultation. Just one flower please.  No bling, no twiddly bits, just tulips. People kept asking what’s ‘that flower’ – points to one in the pots. It’s a tulip.  Oh, and what’s that? That would be yet another tulip – yes they are all tulips, just different colours and textures.

She loved them so much she grew her own in pots and took them to the venue.  A tulip lined terrace – where the guests can dodge hail, or bask in a little late afternoon sunshine.

It may be all about tulips for some people, but there’s hellibores too. They won’t be here much longer. And a lion, guarding the venue. He’s ferocious you know.

Friday 13th – Part 2

What’s your favourite?

Partial to an afternoon tea? Or have the cutest couple won your heart? The couple being the mice of course.

Are you a fan of a flying saucer? or straight at the gin?

Friday13th – Part 1

You do wonder taking a booking on Friday 13th.

This Friday 13th had squealing girls in pjs and hairdressers.  The excitement was infectious.  And then to the tent.  Down quiet country lanes. Super picturesque.   It’s so lovely and there will be two more wedding here over the summer.

And so to the flowers, a cast of thousands. Particularly loving the use of tuberose and jasmin. It’s the soft trailyness (yes that is a real word). Added stocks, and bingo scentastic. Spray roses, wheat, panicum fountain, lilac, phlox, sweet william, astrantia and ammi.  See, told you, thousands.

Nearly forgot, English bluebells. Or are they? Maybe spanish? Either way they were grown in the UK.  A fave this  month.

And then it was back to reality for little ole me. I resisted the urge to pocket a tomato plant although I did manage a little twirl on an empty dancefloor – not bad for a day at the office.

To follow – bridesmaids bouquets, sweet table, table plans…

Mergers and acquisitions

Latest acquisition.  Isn’t it glorious.  Bring on the Delphiniums.  Not too long to wait until they come into season.

And tomorrow there will be a merger. Or a wedding as many call them. Plus a merging of all these flowers.

Sweet william buttonholes. I don’t think anyone has asked for these before – I’m guessing now everyone can see them we may be making more.

Back on the plot, I’ve ordered more compost bins – I know the glamour.  But I compost all the shop green waste. So now there’s six bins – and those veggies will be all the happier for them.   And the neighbours have rabbits – wonder if the poo is any good? Maybe composted – not that I’m obsessed about it or anything.
