Adventures of a bloom

This week, got me thinking about travelling, adventures and a break from the norm.  It’s good to get away, a change of scenery.  What’s the saying a change is as good as a rest.  So J returns from a long weekend in the smoke, all refreshed and full of ideas.   Reminds me of a very exciting trip too many years ago….

Why do I still have this?  Like the dog teeth marks in it too.

Scabious and Campanula

Then there are some things that really don’t travel very far at all.  Blousy scabious – all soft and ripply, mixed with bells of the campanula and a bit of astrantia.  The sort of stuff you actually find in English gardens (and my front garden).

The King – nah, not Elvis, not that king.  Mr King Protea, national flower of South Africa – now that’s what you call a travelling bloom.  Air miles a go-go, but for special folk it just has to be done.

Time to make gravy.  Not a euphemism – roast chicken dinner won’t make itself.  x
