No leftovers day

When the entertaining is over and you’ve returned from the country. The usual dash through the London underground system carrying way too many bags of gorgeous presents (yes spoilt again, pictures to follow of the crazy leg warmer inspired thermal leggings).  And you realise there are no more turkey leftovers, no giant slices of rich Christmas cake, no belgian chocolates.

What to eat?  Barley.  I’ll give you that it may not be an obvious choice. Some people may even think a little weird. But this hearty little number is a great change from all that richness.  Add fancy mushrooms if you like. Think of ths as the L’oreal risotto.
