it’s summer. And dig out the summery light recipes. The ones we enjoy eating outdoors. That Nigella ‘Forever Summer’ thing. Bored of caseroles, bored of slow cooked roots and heavy meals. So I cracked open the chick peas and the griddle. Olive oil, garlic and fresh zingy lemon juice. The salty tang of the halloumi. Lifts the spirits.
And tonight’s gift? A fabulous book of bread recipes. Did you watch Mr Hollywood on Monday? Did it inspire you? I’ve enjoyed baking bread over the last few years, but the challenge of all these fabulous new things to make. Exciting times lie ahead. And these pumpkin seed sticks may be the first thing on the list. Unless I find something more thrilling once I’ve had a chance to digest the book, not physically you understand.
