This really is a ‘just picked’ look. The calendula taking centre stage. The clash of colours. And strawberries. And broadbeans. So many broadbeans the giant pudding basin is the overflow from the salad tray. A real abundance this week. Spinach, mange tout and turnips. The pink fir spuds are still deep in the ground. It’s too hot to dig.
It’s not too hot for iced minty tea.
In other news I think there’s a tennis match on. It may even be over. Never likely to be described as the world’s greatest sporting fan.
And last night there was a party. A very warm party. With a whole room full of family. It was a giggle. There was talk of 70s parenting techniques. Stolen sherbert, and walloping. With a wooden scholl sandal. Followed by a presentation of a new pair.
