Stir up Sunday

001 002 003 acerIt’s traditionally the day you make Christmas pudding.  It’s gently cooking away.  For hours. And every now and then I wonder  what the slightly burning smell is. And the pan is dry.

This year’s recipe includes this Bourbon Stout, treacle and stem ginger.  To be enjoyed on boxing day with good vanilla ice cream. As well as he big day you understand.

Mince pies with cinnamon icing sprinkle.  Crappy shop bought ready rolled pastry.  Shocking.  What was I thinking?  You can see the cracks. Pants. Lesson learnt.

The acer, comes into it’s own at this time  of year. Look at it!  Is it not magnificent?  It should be renamed the fire tree.

I’ve been away from the blog for a while.  I can’t shift this cough. Started on Halloween.  Still going strong.
